M-607 / M-611 / La Morcuera
The researched line leaves Madrid on the M-607, reaches Miraflores de la Sierra and takes the M-611 over Puerto de la Morcuera toward Rascafría. The city gives way to stone walls, pine forest and a mountain pass used as seriously by cyclists as drivers.
Leave before the traffic, but do not treat the empty road as permission. Expect bicycles, changing weather and animals near the carriageway. Stop in Rascafría before deciding whether the return needs another pass.
